WESTSIDE PHYSIE is proudly associated with BJP Physical Culture Club and opened its doors in 2024. Our classes are held in The Gables, with easy access for families from Oakville, Box Hill, McGraths Hill, Pitt Town, and Grantham Farm.
We are a non-profit dance club offering lessons for girls and women of all ages and abilities, from preschoolers through to Ladies.
At Westside Physie, we focus on building confidence, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging within a supportive and friendly community.
Our programs are designed to empower girls and women through the sport of dance—combining fun, fitness, and friendship.πΈπ

What is Physie?
Fun, upbeat pop music is the soundtrack to a sport that fuses jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, aerobic dance and even yoga! With new choreography every year, Physie is always fresh, exciting and full of variety.
Physie (short for Physical Culture) is a team-based sport that blends dance, fitness and fun—designed to improve strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence. It’s the perfect mix of exercise and creativity, helping girls and women feel strong, capable and empowered.
But Physie is more than just routines or competitions. It’s about:
π Building confidence and resilience
π Developing a positive body image
π Feeling encouraged, supported and valued
With inspiring role models and a strong focus on friendship, Physie gives girls the skills to grow into confident, strong women.
It’s a Girl Thing!
One of the most special things about Physie is that it’s a sport for life. Grandmothers, mothers, daughters and grand-daughters can all dance at the same club, sharing their love of Physie together.
For generations, Australian women have treasured the friendships, family ties and close-knit bonds that Physie brings. More than just a sport, Physie is a community where confidence grows, friendships flourish and everyone belongs.
